Bamboo has a long history with Thai tattoos especially with Thai designs. His father was a master spirit doctor tattooist who trained him at a very early age, He trained him in the old ways of Thai traditional bamboo tattooing, Sak Yant Thai Temple Tattoos, together with the ways of the old Pali Buddhism script and practice. He performs a full chant when Thai tattooing the old Pali script. The belief is it gives the power of an animals i.e. Tiger for strength or a Tortoise for long life.
